"Idol" Hopeful Nixed from H'wood for Pot Rap?

301. Many people who have been busted for something pay their debt to society and go on to become some of the best role models. They have been through the process and can help others not fall into that hole. They shouldn't be penalized again. However, I believe that they are penalized because they failed to be honest on the application to the question: "Have you ever been arrested for anything? and if so, state reason". They should remove that question because the public is denied seeing the best talent the country has to offer. They would have never let Bob Marley, The Beatles, and many new artists try out because they have been arrested for something or other. We need to relax the qualification process.

302. Just because someone has something that tarnishes their past does not mean that it tarnishes their entire character. EVERYONE, whether you have the guts to admit it or not, has something in thier past that they hope remains buried there. It is not what they have done rather what they are doing now and will be doing in the future that makes someone a good role model. Learning from past mistakes, being able to acknowledge that they are human and make mistakes..that is what a role model is. Putting someon on an impossible pedistal of perfection only leads to some, media hyped tragic downfall. Whatever happened to stories of overcoming adversity and surviving lifes trials? That is what a role model looks like.

305. I agree that they should let the pot charge go and he should stay in the competition. But where do some of you people come off by saying that everyone has tried and is currently using pot? I for one am not a current user. I don't appreciate idiots who do use and it's obvious by your comments that using has killed some of your brain cells!

...seriously. it's a TALENT competition. they don't try to "even it out" by making sure the winners aren't all of one skin color. it's America's vote, and they vote on talent and personality. it just so HAPPENS that only 2 winners so far have been african-american. now, if there have been like 15 seasons, you MIGHT have a point here, trying to throw that into the argument. but there's only been, like, 5 seasons so far right? it's "2 vs 3" [black vs white winners]...that's not much of a difference to go on...

312. Here in Birmingham, there is a story cerculating. Jerd Mims of Clanton, was forced to leave befor the judging in Hollywood started. I did hear Simon say that there would be no winner from Alabama. This was said before all of the Alabama contestens were sent home this week. Anybody know more on this please write.
